Through network establishment and regional priority consultations, Genome Prairie works collaboratively with all levels of government, universities and industry as well as Genome Canada, a not-for-profit organization implementing a national strategy in genomics and proteomics research to benefit all Canadians.

Genomics research and development are an important part of Canada’s future. Important industry sectors such as agriculture, health, food & nutrition, forestry, fisheries, mining and energy stand to benefit from the commercialization of such research developments.

Consideration of the societal impacts of genomics research is important in each project overseen by Genome Prairie. The organization facilitates the application of genomics while keeping these important impacts in mind.
