Genome Prairie Welcomes new Manager, Programs

Saskatchewan and Manitoba – Genome Prairie is delighted to welcome Dr. Ifeoma Okwor as the new Program Manager, effective July 1, 2021. Dr. Okwor will work closely with and support the Prairie research community to oversee our project portfolio and help optimize project outcomes for maximum benefit to the region and Canada.

Ifeoma (pronounced Eee-foe-mah), brings to Genome Prairie more than 10 years’ experience in the Manitoba research community. She has a robust understanding of the Canadian research and research funding landscape.

Prior to arriving in Canada, Ifeoma was a practicing large animal veterinarian in Nigeria. She has a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria, a Master’s degree in Immunology, and a PhD in Medical Microbiology from the University of Manitoba.
